The beat goes on...
Okay, so I've had this journal for a while now and I only have one public post up. How boring I am! Well, I have been writing to myself but I'd like to widen the horizons of my little world a bit. I guess I'll treat this as writing messages in a bottle and sending it out to the world at large. Who knows what will come back? But first, I have to write that message so here goes:
Yesterday Apple announced, among other things, that they would be overhauling the whole iPod line with upgrades and adding the new iPod Touch. From what I've seen they look great but not something I'd run out and buy; the 30gb iPod I bought a couple of months ago works just fine for me right now and, while I'd love the additional storage space of the 160gb, I don't see a pressing need to own it right now. The Touch is a beautiful piece of work but I'd rather have the space for all my music instead of wireless internet. The same goes for the heavily discounted iPhone: love the looks but not paying for wireless internet and other bells and whistles. All I want my phone to do is work when I want it to and so far it does that just fine.
Anyway, it was fun to hear new news from Apple. I love Macs and support them (waves flag). Sometime in the future I hope to get a new MacBook Pro with Leopard installed but, until then, I'm happy to poke along on my old PowerBook.
